New Merc-related blog, eMercedesBenz reports on DaimlerChrysler's delivery of two fuel-cell cars to the City of Sacramento. The cars, which are based on non-US A-Class models, have a range of 100 miles and produce 88 horsepower soaking wet (sorry, bad hydrogen joke). In addition to performing light municipal duties, they'll act as rolling labs for DCX propellerheads to collect empirical data on performance and usage. DaimlerChrysler executives say the company has already spent a cool million on hydrogen fuel-cell technology, and has 100 prototypes in use around the world, with 17 in the states, and an energy partner in BP, which opened refueling stations in Michigan and Los Angeles.
