We're always a fan of the heartstrings-tugging history-of-the-brand type advertisement. There's just something that always draws a tear to our eyes when we think of the past successes of a brand. Witness yesterday's Audi ad, or the Ferrari ad earlier this week. Maybe it's just that we're so non-enamored by many of the vehicles automakers are calling their new hotness. Or maybe it's just that you always look at the past through rose-colored glasses, ignoring the issues and problems and remembering the "good stuff." Whatever the reason may be, we're digging it — just like we're digging FoMoCo's new arrow-through-the-heart ad, called "Proof."

I'd rather watch the Ferrari/Shell ad.
Where's the permalink on the left side bar?????
I like it! I don't know how you convince someone that a car's not going to blow up at 60000 miles like your mom's tempo did, but this commercial doesn't make things worse.
I saw it last night while watching TV...seems a bit despirate to me.
"Please buy our product, we promise it wont suck...really, it wont!"
Having Mike Rowe narrating is genius. When I watch this commercial, it brings to mind, American Chopper, American Hotrod, cleaning sewage off of houses, and Alaskan king crab.
Good job Ford!
What I like about this spot is that it is pretty much straight up...it doesn't try to have a larger creative concept, unlike those RIDICULOUS "I like to live on the 'Edge'" ones or the "Suburban third-row seat workout"
I almost watched it, but then my mouse took on this Ouija Board supernatural powers mind-of-its-own thing, moved over to click on the Ferrari ad link, and forced me to watch it for the 23rd time. Mulder and Scully are currently investigating.
so what are the other three vehicles that make up the eight?
COS I'M A PUNK ROCKER, YES I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A step in the right direction.
The next ad should be about how Ford can compete in a global market and will be bringing their best cars from around the world to America. :)
@camp6ell: oh yeah, that was gonna be my question... I got so distracted thinking about the Ferrari ad, I forgot.
I like it too. I love Ford, and I just want to see them be sucessful again. I hope they can turn it around this year, and as far as I am concerned, if you have a heritage, why not remind people?

Atleast Fomoco is coming to the front line and saying yes we screw-up but know we have a great line of car that deserves a try remember that 49% of all Fusion owner are new to Ford and this is a great start, my friend works for a ford dealer nearby and he just sold a ford Edge to a customer that turn in an BMW X5 now what do you think about that...
Good ad.
And I think that if they made an Edge hybrid, they wouldn't be able to sell them fast enough.
