Wiesmann, the German manufacturer of bizarro sports cars often based on BMWs like the Wiesmann GT MF4 Clubsport, has reportedly filed for bankruptcy. The world just got a bit less crazy.
A report in Autoblog citing the German website Motor Talk says the company's bankruptcy filing didn't offer any clues as to how this happened. The company was a small boutique manufacturer who put out about 200 cars per year.

Hopefully their insolvency proceedings won't spell the end of the company. They weren't the most famous or notable manufacturer out there, but they put some neat stuff out their in their 20 year existence. I'm rooting for a comeback.
