Cars these days are getting more and more complicated. Thankfully, Volkswagen has a solution to get techs to make sure they fix your car correctly: An augmented reality iPad app. And it's a seriously good idea.

Dubbed MARTA, the app will debut at the InsideAR conference in Munich on October 11th. It was made mainly with the ultra-complex Volkswagen XL1 diesel hybrid eco car.

What it does is shows the tech on a tablet screen exactly what needs to be done for the prescribed service. It's a brilliant idea, one that our own Jason Torchinsky had as a great use for Google Glass-wearing technicians.

For today's more complex cars, it's a great idea, and in hybrids and electrics, a smart way to avoid getting electrocuted to death by accident.
