Law enforcement agencies from across the U.S. have reached out to Jalopnik for help with car identifications since your input was "critical" to solving a hit-and-run earlier this year.
On Thursday, police in Corpus Christi, Texas released some really grainy surveillance footage of an SUV suspected of striking a 21-year-old jogger on Aug. 5, a collision which left her with serious head injuries. Witnesses told investigators the driver pulled the ultimate hit-and-run scumbag move, having "slowed down after the crash, and then sped off."
The stills were culled from footage apparently captured by security cameras at a nearby home, according to the local paper.
Police are looking for a light-colored SUV, either a Chevy Blazer or a GMC Jimmy, with front-end damage.
Think they're right? If it helps, here's a link to several still shots from a TV report on the case.
