Identify This Car And Help Boston Police Catch A Murderer

Law enforcement agencies from across the U.S. have reached out to Jalopnik for help with car identifications since your input was "critical" to solving a hit-and-run earlier this year.

Police in Boston are trying to find the vehicle in this image above, which was captured from a surveillance camera in Dorchester, Mass. this weekend. The person inside the vehicle is believed to be the individual who shot four women on Sunday. Three of the occupants have died so far.

Here's what we know:

One major clue came from one of several surveillance cameras police installed in parts of the city earlier this summer. The camera caught a picture of a white sport utility vehicle with a black top, halogen lamps, and fog lamps. Police are trying to enhance photos to pull up a license plate and determine the make and model of the SUV, which was seen in the area of Harlem Street at the time of the shooting.

We have our own guesses but hopefully you can help ID the specific year/model/trim. Please drop your theories in Kinja below.

Boston police asked that members of the public who have information about the shooting contact the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470. People with information who wish to remain anonymous can call 1-800-494-TIPS or text the word ‘TIP' to CRIME (27463).
