Automotive interior design is stuck in a rut. Featureless panels of cheap plastic interspersed with silvery pieces of cheap plastic and, in a good car, slightly squishy pieces of cheap plastic. Sometimes, that's better than what your friends think up.
I remember my dad telling me about getting into a friend's VW and they'd laid sod instead of carpets. It was amazingly comfortable, but it was also inevitable that the floor would rust away. It was a fantastically terrible idea. What's the worst interior mod you've ever seen?
