We all know the story of James Halaby, who wrecked his Accord while streetracing in New York. Everyone agrees that he should "take it to the track," but where exactly should he go?
A lot of car enthusiasts say they would track their cars, but it's too expensive. If we're going to get as many streetracers onto closed courses and away from commuters, we've got to present them with affordable tracks.
NASA has events all up the Northeast and you can find their schedule here. At New Jersey Motorsports Park and Pocono Raceway, a $60 Hyperdrive gets you one class session and one track session. There are many more road courses and drag strips in the Northeast where Halaby and drivers like him can enjoy their cars safely. What's the best place for them to go?
