Land Rovers In Dubai Come With Delicious Edible Book

If you're stuck out in the Arabian desert in your new Land Rover, don't despair: you've been provided with a survival book that should help you figure out how to survive, and, if that's not enough, you can just eat the damn book.

Land Rover UAE's Ad agency, Y&R Dubai, came up with the clever advertising gimmick and printed 5000 copies of the survival guide. The guide contains information on all indigenous flora and fauna, as well as instructions for building shelter and topographic information to help guide lost Land Rover owners to safety. But, best of all, the book is printed on potato-starch paper with a glycerine-based ink (which imparts a slightly sweet flavor). Allegedly, the book has a nutritional value roughly equivalent to that of a cheeseburger.

As far as I know, this is the first officially edible book provided with a car. I ate about 1/3 of a '75 Valiant manual on a dare once, and it was delicious. Crisp, nutty, with an ever so slight hint of what may have either been cumin or antifreeze.
