James Rogers had been building his perfect car, a black Ford Escort RS Cosworth, only to have it stolen while it was getting a simple repair. Help us find a fellow enthusiast's one-of-a-kind petrolhead masterpiece.
Rogers' Escort Cosworth was a labor of love, starting with a bare shell and sourcing specialist parts from all over the world to create one astounding car. So unique is its specification and so recognizable is the car that Rogers thinks the thieves will not be able to sell the car successfully. If they try, we'll have an eye out for it.
The car was at Rogers' brother-in-law's workshop, getting ready to have some scratches removed when it was stolen. The thieves broke into the locked workshop and took the car, presumably using a trailer, along with some equipment. Anyone who sees the car will likely remember it, so it stands to reason that the thieves will strip the car and sell it for parts.
Rogers is offering over $7,000 as a reward for the return of his Escort Cosworth, but it is likely in a shipping container travelling overseas by now. It leaves us heartbroken to think of this pride and joy being taken away and torn down, and if you have any information about the car, please call Staffordshire Police at (from the US: 011 44) 0300 123 4455.
