The Forza Motorsport 4: Limited Collector's Edition is chock-full of extra cars you'll love driving in Forza 4... assuming you didn't order the game from Best Buy. It turns out the big box electronics retailer sold many more of the special edition than they actually had. Now they're going on a pre-order killing spree. Did you get screwed?
An editor over at The Daily Hoon was one of the individuals to pre-order the Collector's Edition, which offers 25 extra cars and a mix of other goodies such as a vinyl sticker set, custom book, and extra special case for $79.99.
But he's not getting the special pack because, according to an email he received from Best Buy, there was "overwhelming demand" and so they've decided to cancel his order. This appears to be corporate speak for "we couldn't count how many we had so we're screwing people who trusted us to only sell as many as we had."
Because of the inconvenience, Best Buy is offering a $20 gift card and 1,600 Xbox live points (the equivalent of $20) if you agree to order the standard edition from Best Buy before Friday.
This, of course, is corporate speak for "We're going to give you something you didn't want and force you either to try and find the pack somewhere for the original price (good luck) or accept our money and buy the regular game from us even through we screwed you over."
If you head over to Amazon you can get the pack for the low-low price of $170.

FULL DISCLOSURE: Jalopnik had an editorial tie-up with Turn 10 Studios on Forza Motorsport 3, this game's predecessor, on two DLC packs for the game. We are working on a similar tie-up on Forza Motorsport 4. Although no money has exchanged hands in this relationship, because it might be something you feel could affect our judgment and clarity in covering this game, we felt the transparency was important.
