How a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet carrier fighter aircraft managed to get stranded in Afghanistan isn't clear, but the U.S. Air Force had a unique solution for getting it back to home base in San Diego: A ride in a cargo plane.

This photo was taken as the F/A-18 was loaded into a C-5 Galaxy at Kandahar Airfield shows the first time a U.S. fighter jet has been flown home on a cargo aircraft, the results of months of planning and the temporary removal of a few flying surfaces. The genius of Xzibit knows no bounds.
