Packing Tape And Plastic Wrap Won't Save New Yorkers' Cars From Hurricane Irene

From the annals of dumb things people do when scared comes this photo snapped by a New York Daily News reader.

Yes, it's a Land Rover wrapped in plastic and packing tape. I don't know whom to feel worse for — the misguided owners, or Land Rover for having customers who think their SUVs must be sheltered from storms by a jury-rigged hair bonnet.

Let's be clear here, New Yorkers — you are over-reacting. Also, not very smart.
