This JFK Hearse is RealS

This week we told you the 1963 Pontiac Bonneville Ambulance being sold at Barrett-Jackson today is a fake. If you desire a piece of real documented JFK automotive history, then here's a 1964 Cadillac Hearse on Ebay that's actually real.

47 years after JFK's assassination, the events of that day in Dallas are still shrouded in mystery and conspiracy. In combination with the tragedy of Kennedy's death, this mystery keeps people interested in all details of the assassination so many years later, including the cars involved. While the '63 Pontiac Bonneville Ambulance being sold at Barrett Jackson isn't the authentic article, there is no mystery that the 1964 Cadillac Hearse you see here is the genuine article.

Outfitted as a hearse by the Miller-Meteor company, this 1964 Cadillac was used to transport the body of President Kennedy and the first lady from Parkland Memorial Hospital to the airport at Love Field. This car has only changed hands three times in its life and accordingly is very well documented to be the actual Cadillac that transported the president's body.

The Hearse remains in excellent original condition with only 47,815 miles on the odometer. According to the seller, the car was purchased new at a professional car trade show in October of 1963. The funeral home that purchased the car was selected to transport the president's body in the wake of the assassination. Several years later the car was sold to another funeral home where it remained until the current seller acquired the car.

All of this authenticity and documentation comes with a price. While you are guaranteed to get the car you pay for, you better be prepared to pay for it. The "Most significant piece of John F. Kennedy memorabilia ever" is currently listed on Ebay with a Buy-it-now price of $1.5 million. This 1964 Cadillac's price is about $1.47 million higher than you might expect to pay for a hearse in similar condition that hadn't transported the last American President assassinated in office.
