2010 12 Hours Of Sebring Gallery: This Is Your Endurance Race, AmericaS

The 12 Hours of Sebring is one of the oldest motorsport events in the country, a day-long torture test that takes place on one of the roughest circuits in the world. Amazing glow-in-the-dark eye candy below the jump.

The latest edition of the 12-hour wrapped up in late March. All things considered, it was a pretty eventful weekend: Peugeot finished 1-2, winning the race for the first time; two Corvettes from the same team smacked into each other in the pits; and Audi didn't show up, only to wreck a car on the same track three days later. We sent a rookie photographer friend to the race in search of a different angle. This pile of excellence is what he came back with. Enjoy!

Note: The photographer in question is none other than Bill Caswell, the BMW-lovin' nutjob behind the $500 Craigslist rally car. His images from the race were a bit delayed because his life of late has been consumed by a media frenzy. If you want to meet him and say hello, he and I will be running a roofless BMW 750iL in the 24 Hours of LeMons at Michigan's Gingerman Raceway this weekend.

Feel free to stop by if you're in the area, but only if you bring large amounts of sour candy/booze/bacon/party streamers/good cheer. (One of those is mandatory; the rest are optional.) Also, the video below shows what the Sebring pits look like the night before the race. Dig the Jaguar bridge and the winner signs over the stalls. Ah, history.
