Not only is the OK Go music video for "This Too Shall Pass" a more musical version of that famous Honda Accord ad, but it also features a cameo of a car from one of our favorite motorsports: LeMons racing.
The car in question is the Make Magazine 1993 Ford Escort LeMons racer. There's a lego version too and it's actually a pretty good replica, including the ill-fated hood-mounted radiator and the little green shark fin on the roof.
The Make team had to remove the hood mounted radiator after discovering that the water pump was unable to pump water the extra couple of inches required, negating the cooling benefit the extra airflow provided. You can read more about Make's car here.
According to Gizmodo, the OK Go video was created without the aid of any computers or other visual tricks, it simply show's OK Go's Rube Goldberg machine doing what it's supposed to. It took 20 engineers and 20 builders six weeks to construct the machine and 60 takes over two days to get it to function properly in the video. Each reset took 30 volunteers close to an hour.
