The gull-winged Subaru Hybrid Tourer Concept has spread its wings at the Tokyo Motor Show, It's mostly an interior design study, but there's also a hint at the direction of an as-yet unnamed Subaru hybrid planned for 2012.

The Subaru Hybrid Tourer Concept is just that for now, a concept. Providing a lot of pretty surfaces and concepts we should look at as direction for Subarus to come. Look closely at all things interior as we're told it gives a good indication of where Subaru is heading in the future. The car also telegraphs elements of a future product offering from Subaru, a hybrid they're planning on offering in the 2012 model year. Now, for sure it might have the Symmetrical AWD system but the 27 HP motor connected to the rear axle and the 13 HP front motor used to generate power for the lithium battery pack and provide additional oomph for hill-climbing might see some changes, but we'll see. Let's just say this should be seen as the direction Subie is headed in.
