• 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6: The Most Powerful Hybrid Ever

Combine a twin-turbo V8, twin-electric motors and the strangest form factor on the market and you've got the 480 HP BMW ActiveHybrid X6, the most pointlessly powerful hybrid in history.

Though not quite as juiced up as the BMW X6 M and it's 555 HP twin-turbo V8, the ActiveHybrid X6 does offer an insane 575 lb-ft of torque courtesy of the electric motors. All of this puts power through a seven-speed tranny and the xDrive AWD system.

Why? We're not sure. Do we particularly want a sleek SUV that trots to 60 MPH in 5.4 seconds and gets 20% better mileage? Probably not. But that doesn't mean there won't be plenty of people lining up.
