The Tire Art Of Romero Betsabeé
Romero Betsabeé is a Mexican artist specializing in re-purposing automotive bits as art. His carved tires are especially interesting, not only because they look cool, but some can roll out some sick tattoo-like prints when dipped in paint.
Betsabeé has done over 30 private exhibitions over the last decade and a half, and most, though not all of his work is somehow auto-centric. Tires are a cheap raw material and not something commonly worked with, plus they lend themselves to easy carving with a hot knife. Very cool and clever. (Thanks for the tip Leeeeena) [Arte-Mexico]
