For automakers, TV product placement means exposure. For producers, it usually means extra dough. For fans, it often means the start of an automotive love affair. What's your favorite TV show automotive product-placement?
Grow up without cable for part of your life and you'll end up watching a lot of Hawaii Five-0, but that's a good thing. In addition to being one of the earliest and most influential of the cop show genre, it featured a wicked black 1968 Mercury Park Lane Brougham driven by Steve McGarrett. Who the hell drives a black car in Hawaii? The car looked incredible against the Hawaiian backdrop and Ford was lucky enough to book the car on a series where their product was constantly screeching to halt every time McGarrett arrived on the scene (demonstrating the disc brakes). Not to mention the gratuitously long car chases, often with other Ford product.
Enjoy the chase montage below, which involves no less than five Ford/Mercury products in one scene. Mercury Park Lane against a Ford Mustang? Who will win? Extra QOTD bonus points for including video/photos of your TV product placement fantasies.
