Alex Zanardi Is Ten Times The Man/Woman You Are

Amputee race car driver Alex Zanardi, who lost his legs during a 2001 race in Germany, has decided to enter the New York City Marathon. It all started when a manager at Barilla said he'd be crazy to try and compete in the marathon, which then meant that Zanardi would have to do it as a matter of honor. The former CART champion, and current WTCC driver, will use a handcycle to compete in the race. He not only plans to finish the race, but hopefully set a record. Along the way he also hopes to fight a bear, rescue a princess and try out for Dancing with the Stars, and don't think we're doubting his resolve to do it. [Sports Illustrated/CNN].
