With all insiders saying the Audi A1 will make an appearance at the Tokyo motor show next month, it's no surprise that various prototypes are making the rounds. A new series of shots from the Nizzurbring show what spies say is a VW Polo Cup edition body over an A1 chassis. Fender flares have been stapled forth to handle the A1's more bulldog-like stance. That's what engineers hope will give it an edge against the Mini Cooper. It's not coming to the states, but the A1 will show up in Europe, snow shoes and caviar lashed to the roof, sometime in 2009.
