The California Kid is simply one of the most iconic hot rods of all time. It's a "Take-one-look-and-keel-over" machine that's been copied, photocopied, scanned, reprinted and digitally remastered, but none of the replicants quite have the feel of the original car built by Pete Chapouris in the 1970s and driven in the TV movie that bestowed its moniker by the father of the guy who played Otto in Repo Man. Plus, there is an equally-awesome Beat Famers song by the same name, which one can see live video of by making the jump. Seriously, though. This thing unties our boots. It unties our jeans. It unties our tubes we had tied in our teens. Yep.
