GM's EV1 'lectric car was a bold experiment in many ways, but it suffered from its outr oddness; a vehicle ahead of its time, ultimately undone by hybrids or weird, nichey vehicles by small-volume manufacturers who had less of a business case to make for their electromobiles. Plus, it apparently had odd handling characteristics due to the discrepancy in its front and rear track widths. Still, enough kooky kids loved the thing that they threw a funeral for it when the leases ran out. And now, the last fully-complete EV1 is housed at the National Museum of American History. Take that, Tango. Or don't.
