The 2013 Dakar Rally plowed on yesterday, trudging through almost 180 miles of sand dunes. Unsurprisingly, it looked absolutely amazing.
The big news of the day (I'm talking about yesterday, for those keeping up) was that American and sometimes inadvertent Ricky Bobby impersonator Robby Gordon rolled his Hummer. This put him about five hours down on the leaders, so there's just about no way we'll see him on the podium at the end of the rally.
WRC legend Carlos Sainz also lost two hours with mechanical trouble, so French Mini man Peterhansel leads the race. Qatari ultra-badass Nasser Al-Attiyah is in second.
