Watch A 1,700 WHP Nissan GT-R Run A 7.98 Second Quarter Mile

Did I say that the AMS Alpha Omega is a 1,700 wheel horsepower Nissan GT-R that ran 7.98 in the quarter mile? My apologies. Let me say it's a street legal 1,700 wheel horsepower Nissan GT-R that ran 7.98 in the quarter mile.

This is a record-breaking run for AMS, who trade off fastest runs with Switzer. Here are the full stats, courtesy of ThatRacingChannel.

0-60: 1.72 seconds

60-130mph: 2.67 seconds (new overall record)

0-300kph (186mph): 7.98 seconds (new overall record)

100-150mph: 2.42 seconds (new overall record)

30-130mph: 3.63 seconds

My only question now is where do they go from here? Their engine trickery is already on another level.

This isn't a GT-R anymore.

The motor has been stroked to something larger, the internals are so far from stock that the man who put the engine together at the factory wouldn't recognize it...

I'm impressed but lets maintain perspective, this isn't a stock GT-R by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm more impressed with Heffner and UGR Ford GTs.
