10.) 1967 Shelby Mustang GT-500 from Gunsmith Cats

Suggested By: stephdumas

Top speed: 135mph

Why it's so fast: It has a 428ci V8 tuned by Shelby conservatively rated at 355 horsepower. While it might have the aerodynamics of a brick, the '67 super-Stang is fast enough in the capable hands of Irene "Rally" Vincent.

9.) Spirou and Fantasio's Turbot 1

Suggested By: Kalile Jensen

Top speed: 149mph (240km/h)

Why it's so fast: This prototype front-wheel-drive roadster from 1952, the Turbot 1, got its power from a turbine engine, and got the two famous French journalists and their mysterious marsupial companion wherever they need to go.

8.) Seta's van from Love Hina

Suggested By: Tohru Rokuno

Top speed: At least 160-180mph

Why it's so fast: While it's only a Subaru Sambar kei van from the ‘90s, it can clearly be seen keeping up with a 747 during takeoff. We have no idea how the 660cc engine made that power. Also, the car had a submarine mode.

7.) Devil Z from Wangan Midnight

Top speed: 180mph

Why it's so fast: You can leave your tofu delivery cars at home, because they just can't hang with the triple-carbureted, twin-turbocharged, 600-horsepower straight six in this 240Z, known for killing its owners.

6.) Buff the Roadbuster from Gunsmith Cats

Suggested By: Piloter, the Great Miscommunicator

Top speed: Over 180mph

Why it's so fast: Like an armor-plated cross between a Porsche 959 and a Ford RS200, "Buff" has a custom 427ci V8 putting out between 500 and 730 horsepower, depending on what you read. The owner, Bean Bandit, built the car himself from the ground up.

5.) Vaillant F1

Suggested By: Jones Foyer

Top speed: 230mph

Why it's so fast: Michel Vaillant's Formula One cars were always as fast as any other in their day. When he was racing in the late ‘90s and early 2000's, he'd be able to keep up with the rest of the V10-powered pack up to 230 at Monza like Schumacher's F2002.

4.) The Batmobile

Suggested By: Picklehaube

Top speed: 230-350 mph

Why it's so fast: There have been hundreds of Batmobiles since the Dark Knight first got into a Graham-Page in 1941's Comics #48. The fastest of all was the 1990s afterburner-equipped version, with a claimed top speed of 230, plus a bonus 120mph with the flaming turbine boost.

3.) The Mach 5

Suggested By: mierdv

Top speed: 305mph

Why it's so fast: According to a very technical Road & Track test, Speed Racer's Mach 5 has an 800 horsepower V12 capable of sprinting the car to 60 in just 0.6 seconds and through the quarter mile in just two seconds more.

2.) Nick Fury's flying Porsche

Suggested By: Gamecat235

Top speed: 800 mph

Why it's so fast: We have no idea how SHIELD's Nick Fury got his Porsche 904 to fly, but with a service ceiling of 50,000 feet, it must have been about as fast as any fighter jet of the day.

1.) Blurr from Transformers

Suggested By: Project Thanatos

Top speed: 800 mph

Why it's so fast: The Autobot Blurr from the '86 Transformers got his name from the supersonic wake as he broke the speed of sound on land. He was powered by energon and could top out at Mach speeds, even on the ground.
