The Aston Martin Vantage Race Car Doesn't Sound Like You'd Think It Would

The new Aston Martin Vantage is an interesting car, what with its no-grille front hiding a hot-vee twin-turbo AMG V8. It looks wild on the street. It looks wilder testing at Monza.

What’s surprising here is that this GTE car doesn’t sound, like, unhinged? I had sort of hoped that the cool 4.0-liter AMG V8 would get a ton of character without a lot of restriction, and that it’d rumble or thunder like a Corvette or even clatter a ton like a Ford GT.

Nah. Not really. It’s just brrrrrrrrrvhhhhhhhhh and then it’s gone. Oh well. At least it looks cool.
