GM to Nearly Triple Car Production in India

When things aren't going swimmingly at home, look elsewhere, right? At least that's the attitude our exes seemed to have had. And that's the tack that GM is taking in India. Despite massive cutbacks in domestic spending, the General's marshalling its forces on the subcontinent in a bid to triple its production there, to a volume of about 80,000 units per year. Currently, the company employs about 2,000 people in India, and while they plan to add a few jobs, they say most of the uptick in production will be handled by current staffers.
