Yesterday we posted that GM planned to triple its production to 80,000 units in India. Apparently, we got some faulty intel, as the General already produces 60,000 cars on the subcontinent, making it only an increase by a third over prior numbers. Mumbai-based journalist Kushan Mitra wrote in to set us straight, and also pointed out that GM's lagging in the Indian market due to its lack of a small car, which it hopes to change with the introduction of the Chvy Aveo and an India-specific-branded Matiz this year. Thanks, Kushan!
