We're not quite sure of the context of this speech, and we've not quite figured out whether Toyota's Hiroshi Okuda has a penchant for putting his foot in his mouth or is just too damn savvy running a weird psych job that we can't begin to wrap our miniscule little blogger-brains around, as it were. Regardless, Okuda's latest pronouncement came thusly:

At a speech in New Delhi, the chairman of the world's #2 automaker said that while Japanese automakers had remained stagnant and/or slipped in quality, Thai and Indian suppliers were winning major quality awards and mentioned the possibility that the two nations could one day make the best automobiles in the world.
