We all know most car colors are simply dreadful. For the most part, they’re a faded pastel of blacks, whites, grays and silvers. Sometimes, though, an automaker will come out with a color that is so lovely I’ve got to give it a shoutout. That’s exactly what Lexus did with its Copper Crest color that debuted on the latest generation of RX. It’s a sort of mix between copper, rose gold and pink, and dammit, it’s absolutely gorgeous. - Andy Kalmowitz Read More

One of the largest and fastest-growing car companies in China (and the world) is Nio, which has largely been focused on the more premium end of the electric car market. That’s now gonna change with Nio’s new Firefly subbrand, which was officially revealed last week with a cute ‘lil hatchback that will be sold in China and Europe. Details about the Firefly are pretty slim, but there’s just one thing I really want to know: Does it freak you out? - Daniel Golson Read More

If you want an exciting front-engine car with American power and slick styling, then you might think your options are limited to the likes of the Dodge Viper or an early Corvette. There’s another option though, as an American workshop once set out to create a new sports car that paired European looks with American power. - Owen Bellwood Read More

Holy smokes, is that a lifted four-wheel-drive third-generation Ford Econoline Club Wagon? Sometimes when I’m out walking the dog I find myself face to face with a truly never-before-seen specimen of automotive awesomeness. This time it was Ford’s incredible box van turned adventure machine. Out here in the American West there are all kinds of off-roady machines like this, but I’ve never seen one so magnificently done from this generation of van. But why not? The Econoline was named the 1978 MotorTrend Truck of the Year, after all. - Bradley Brownell Read More

Like many of you, I’ve watched “Home Alone” more times than I can count, but this year I noticed something that changed my perspective on the whole movie: the real villains aren’t the Wet Bandits or Kevin’s parents. It’s actually Mitch Murphy, the McCallister’s nosy, car dork neighbor. - Andy Kalmowitz Read More

Well, it’s the end of December, which means another year has passed without anyone forcing the Jalopnik staff to get real jobs. For that, we are eternally grateful. Allegedly, there are other jobs you can work that don’t require you to put pants on, but most of those don’t come with access to cool cars with gloveboxes stuffed with cash in exchange for positive reviews. - Collin Woodard Read More

The process of shooting photos of a car can be extremely time-consuming. Capturing every single angle, detail, backdrop and element can take a hell of a lot of effort, and frankly, most of the time the pictures stink anyway. However, sometimes everything lines up and you end up with some truly lovely pictures. That’s what we’re celebrating here. - Andy Kalmowitz Read More

While the Christmas NFL game saw the Ravens absolutely obliterate the Texans on their home turf, the attention wasn’t really on the game, as it was drastically overshadowed by Beyoncé’s incredible live-on-Netflix halftime performance. The whole show was a non-stop visual blitz, but the real star of Queen Bey’s entourage was the denim-covered sixth-gen Ford F-series pickup covered in a patchwork quilt of denim. It’s perfect. - Bradley Brownell Read More
