Great idea. It would also be interesting to see an article on early Japanese small pick ups. Like the Mazda B2000 series. I’d read the crap out of those articles. Read more

As a dismal remind of the times, this interior won the Wards interior of the year in 2005 - Industry at large. Popular priced truck.

Idea for a Forgotten Cars article: the Honda Civic del Sol.  I wanted one SO BAD when I was in high school...especially with the 5-speed and that lime green color (NOT the teal color that adorned later models...the Civic coupe I ended up with instead was that color and it did not hold up well). Oh and Lawrence, I hope you’re clear that the article is great. The shade towards that vehicle is completely compartmentalized from the article. Just want to be abundantly clear there. Like I don’t want to live on a nuclear submarine. Apparently they smell like years of accumulated farts. However, I’d read about/watch Read more

I suppose I should see one in person before casting too much judgment. I won’t free up a spot in my mind’s garage just yet - but I’ll leave myself open to persuasion... Read more

Are the giant paddle shifters so big because they are mounted to the steering column and don’t rotate with the steering wheel? I’ve seen that setup before, but I forget which car had them. If they’re column-mounted, they have to be huge so you can still shift when the steering wheel isn’t straight. Read more

That’s awesome! Sounds like an extremely fun time. Definitely excited to hear your thoughts on the canyon driving, and that exhaust clip too! Maybe swing by a Cars & Coffee event and see how people respond to it! Read more

Last week I had a can of wine as I chatted with commenters and fell asleep at 6pm so I am going to try to avoid erring like that again Read more

I feel I would be doing the bus loving readers of Jalopnik a disservice if I didn’t bring Cyclops to their attention. Two decks, articulated, 32 wheels, 110 passengers, bowling alley and nuclear powered, naturally.

I do!! :) Though, I wouldn’t say that the TAMU buses like mine are in rough shape. They’re better than the usual worn out ones seen for sale. Read more

What a great article.
Thank you for shining some light onto our car.
Here is my SVT Contour mod to use on track only with livery that copy from the BTCC Mondeo.

I loved the old RTS - staple of the NYC bus system. The private companies had the 96" and 103" wide variants with the 6v92TA - un governed, they’d scream on the highway. Miss that glorious noise and smell. They always rode solidly for a transit bus, especially compared to the Orion 5s which rattled like marbles in a Read more

Lawrence, I assume you’re too old to have enjoyed Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus as a kid, but if you have kids or nieces/nephews, enjoy it with them. Read more

I need to know what the deep snow/mud on/off switch does. Does it raise it? Deploy studded tires? Lower a plow? Fascinating stuff. Read more

Looking at their lot design, they really screwed the pooch here. A bunch of the CFAs in SoCal have added extra queue space by carving out some of their parking lot spots, but this one is tiny and there’s nowhere to expand on-site. It’s really short-sited and they should have dealt with this a lot sooner. When you have Read more

You forgot about the Ford LTD LX.

I had one of these probably about 2000 or so. It was a 1998 off lease or program car with 18k on the clock. I think I grabbed it for like $12k or so. It was my firstreal car” (read: not total shitbox)when I graduated college and could actually afford something decent. Read more
