Here’s the answer: for some reason, US-spec Beetles (and Supers) always had drums all around. I’m not really certain why. Discs were available in Europe from at last ‘66, and Ghias always had them. I added them to my Beetle, and it makes a huge difference. I’ve never really been sure why the US got stuck with drums. Read more
