Even while we're driving the 991 generation 2012 Porsche 911, the company is releasing yet another last iteration of the 997 as it continues to build blitzkrieging race cars on the familiar platform.

Designed to compete in Le Mans, this GT3 RSR uses the 997's 4.0-liter six-cylinder, here making 460 HP. An all-new wide-body aerokit completes the roughly $700,000 package. The company plans to use the 997 as a race car until later next year or early 2013 when a new 991-based model is introduced.

If you can't swing the $700K, there's always the similarly-powered Porsche 911 GT3 4.0RS. Le Mans only comes around once a year, but pretending like you're running Le Sarthe is something you can do every day.
