Going through some old photos, I've discovered a couple of shots of my sisters posing with the Martin Family Motor Pool, circa 1976. Yes, you could still get 620 roll film as late as the Gerald Ford Era!
That '73 Chevrolet Beauville passenger van survived a rollover on black ice in Nevada about two weeks after being purchased new (the sliding door never worked quite right again), then stayed in family service for another decade— long enough to get T-boned by a Maverick with me behind the wheel. The Fiat? Sadly, it proved many orders of magnitude less reliable than the Chevy, though its beautiful engine sounds were a big factor in turning me into a car freak at an early age.
