Okay, so it's not exactly a Subaru BRZ STi, but the Subaru/Toyota "86" is still a fantastic platform on which to build and call it your own. This Subaru BRZ is a great example of the perfect amount of tasteful modification. A little bodywork, a little exhaust, maybe some wheels, and that's it.

Though a common complaint about the Toyobaru twins is that they're low on power and have skinny tires, that's one of their defining characteristics. Even still, if you're really upset about it they seem to be relatively easy to modify. That being said, it doesn't hurt that the base car itself doesn't look too bad, so it's not like it would need major surgery. Maybe just a little makeup. And a little makeup looks great in this case.

"though a common complaint about the Toyobaru twins is that they're low on power..."

Honestly, it's not the 200hp that I have a problem with (200 hp is completely adequate for daily use)... the problem is that the engine sounds like crap, is not really refined, doesn't really feel like it wants to rev, the shifter is so notchy it feels like you're crunching the synchros, there is an enormous torque hole in the low range and there's no juice at the top of the rev range either (if this car has 200hp, it doesn't feel like it). If you were to compare this engine to other engines like the 2-liter Honda engines, it's probably the weakest part of the car particularly as the chassis can obviously take significantly more juice.

When people say that this car needs more power, I'm inclined to agree, but only because from my perspective, the engine completely lacks any character. In lieu of this, if the engine isn't going to set your world on fire, you might as well make it useful and break the rear tires loose a bit more...

Also, it would be nice if the car was a liftback, a la Scion tC. The FR-S is small and doesn't have much space, but give it a hatch and it will be much easier using the amount of space it DOES have.
