Hack some rusty cool car out of an overgrown junkyard, then affix all the cool body stuff to a somewhat usable frame. It’s a dream I’ve always wanted to follow and it’s exactly what Roadkill did with what might be the world’s worst Buick and an also-horrible ‘70s Corvette.
They pulled a ‘56 Buick Special, maybe the prettiest Buick that nobody seems to care about, out of a thorn bush in some Tennessee junkyard and mounted it on a two-foot-stretched frame of a ‘73 Corvette they chopped up in the same spot.
The project isn’t done yet, and it looks like it’s going to be a totally awful rusty turd. But it’s going to look badass and it’s going to run. That counts as rescuing these otherwise-doomed vehicles, and that’s good in my book.
