Why Aren’t There More Funny Car Tugs-Of-War?

Here we see two funny cars line up on New Jersey's Atco Raceway for what might be the best use of drag racing cars ever devised: a tug-of-war.

After a few restarts, the one that shoots more flames wins. The only thing is that it all took place in 1989. Why isn't this happening all the time?
