When Volkswagen introduced their very first water-cooled, front-engine/front-drive car, the K70 (formerly an NSU) in 1970, they celebrated by taking their press photos in an alternate dimension where the skies as well as the land was composed of rich gray gravel.

The sunsets there were so beautiful and gray and coarse.
