Everyone collectively drools for the Datsun 240Z and Mazda Miatas of the world, but there are some sports cars out there that deserve more attention than they get.
A personal favorite of mine i s the Lamborghini Urraco. Most of you remember it as the car that broke down a bunch on that old Top Gear episode. Others of you may think of it as a completely impossible to maintain hunk of Italian nonsense.
I think of it as the car that beat the Porsche 2.7 RS.
Back in 1973, when both cars were new on the market, CAR Magazine comparison tested a Urraco S (with its 2.5 liter, 220 horsepower V8) against the Porsche Carrera 2.7 (mechanically identical to the now-legendary Carrera RS). CAR found that the subtle Lamborghini was the better-handling, better-driving car.

It might not be the easiest car to own, or the most famous, but the Urraco deserves a better reputation than its current forgotten status.
