We see the concept car, we hear the specs, and we catch glimpses of the camouflaged prototype. Our expectations are high, but the car turns out to be a dud. This happens all the time.
No car was quite as hyped as the Chevy Vega, which was supposed to turn the tide against Japanese imports and give everyone the small car from GM they'd always hoped for. Pretty as the car was, it broke down all the time, weighed too much, and didn't have anywhere near the same amount of space inside as its boxy foreign competitors.
What car has been the biggest letdown after the most hype?
