The word has been out for months: Toyota is planning a Nextel Cup entry for the 2007 season, to become the first non-US constructor (outside of DaimlerChrysler of course) in the race series. Now, chatter in the pipeline has gotten stronger, as the company is expected to announce its NASCAR plans next week, according to Speed TV. The Nascar entry will join Toyota's Craftsman Truck Series entry (pictured), which — as it is for drivers — has been a test bed for the carmaker's Nextel Cup competition. No, it won't be a Corolla, wiseass. Toyota's motorsports division, Toyota Racing Development will work up a Camry for competition. Front drive? We think not.
