The Peregrine Hybrid Sounding Rocket is meant to shoot to the very edge of space, conducting research as it goes. But at the moment, it's still in development. It might be a small research rocket, but it's got what seems like Satan's intestinal discomfort exploding out the back. Don't watch this with headphones.

Alright, so you can watch it with headphones, but be prepared to be first blown away by the alien-sounding noise as the rocket powers up, and then be prepared to be blown away when your eardrums spontaneously combust from the sheer force emanating from every speaker-like object within a twenty-mile vicinity from your current location.

Don't say we didn't warn you.

Jointly developed by NASA Ames, Stanford University, and aerospace company SPG, the Peregrine runs on a mix of a paraffin-based fuel and nitrous oxide. Which sounds fun.
