An all-new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is on the way. That much we know. We've seen it making mean, mean noises as it goes around race tracks decked out in heavy camouflage, but we don't know what it will look like. I'm willing to bet these renders are close to the real deal, though.

These images come to us from render expert chazcron, who had some of the better renders of the car that became the 2015 Ford Mustang last year. He based these images on the spy photos of the camo mule that's been running around lately, and they showed up on the Camaro6 forum.

We've alternately heard that the next Camaro's design won't change much or that it will look more like the Camaro from the 1970s. Having seen those mules, I'm kind of willing to bet now that it's more the former than the latter. And why mess with success? People love the looks of the Camaro, and it's been a strong seller for years.

What we do know is the next Camaro will likely be based on the same platform as the Cadillac ATS, making it smaller and lighter and possibly with a turbo four engine as an option. Considering how potent the ZL1 and Z/28 are, I can't wait to see what it can do if it goes on a diet.

In the meantime, what do we think of the renders?
