This crashed cargo ship is like a disaster frozen in time

If you've ever wondered how strong moving water can be, just look at how the steel cargo containers of the Liberian-flagged Rena are getting bent, torn, and crushed.

Heavy seas off New Zealand are knocking the ship over, cracking the hull and have already tossed about 70 containers into the ocean. There were a total of 1,368 containers on-board when the cargo ship left port.

If you want to see what kind of damage people can do in return, the oil is starting to spill oil into the ocean and at least 11 of the containers contain hazardous materials.
