There Is No Current Top-Level World Rally Car With A V8

But in the 1970s there was.

British Leyland's works Triumph TR7s actually came from a long line of factory-backed Triumph rally cars, with most of their postwar rear-drive sports cars hitting some kind of stage or another. Hey, that's exactly what this PR film says!

What draws me to the ugly duckling of a TR7 is that it got a Rover V8 (we called that a TR8 here in the US) and it sounds absolutely intoxicating.

This car wasn't a great competitor on gravel rallies, but on tarmac it was a real beast. I want one desperately.
