The Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86/GT 86/Scion FR-S twins are, for all intents and purposes, the same car.

So what happens when Subaru and Toyota modify their cars? Well, apparently you end up with the same car again.

In Paris, Toyota was showing off the GT 86 TRD, which is a regular GT 86 with a bunch of bolt on parts straight from Toyota Racing Development. That includes an exhaust, wheels, brakes, and body kit.

And hey, look at Subaru's stand! It's basically the same car, down to the color.

The Subaru BRZ XT Line features... a set of bolt on parts! Like wheels, an exhaust, a body kit, etc. You see where this is going. Both cars looked great, but they also looked so similar it was uncanny.

There are subtle differences. The BRZ had two exhaust pipes while the GT 86 had four. The BRZ also had smaller brakes. That's about it. Judge for yourself below.
