Dodge went to Las Vegas today to unveil the 2013 Dodge Charger Sprint Cup car you've already seen, which seems appropriate given the long odds of a MOPAR-badged car winning the championship next year.
This more shapely and more pseudo-stock-like stock car will race next year, but under whose command? Penske Racing dropped Dodge for next year deciding to go with the 2013 Ford Fusion Sprint Cup car because they'd like to win. Crazy, isn't it?
As with the other manufacturers, there's a lot more leeway with the design that'll allow the vehicles to look more like the vehicles they're pretending to be based on.
Respect to Dodge for designing a handsome car that looks almost as good as the Dodge Charger Pursuit pacing the race in Vegas today, but without more (and better) teams it's just the promise of something great. An as-of-yet empty promise.
Here's hoping someone is enterprising (or desperate) enough to sign up with Dodge, because we want to see this car race.
