This is the most powerful factory-built Shelby Mustang ever; a full serving of 950-horsepower V8 (1,100 on race fuel) with a bit of Mustang on the side. If you've got $149,995 burning a hole in your pocket it'll burn a hole in the universe for you.
The new Shelby 1000 will debut next week at the New York Auto Show according to MustangsDaily.
That aforementioned 950-horsepower figure is when you run the 5.4-liter V8 on pump gas. If you check the box for the "off-road" S/C track version, the engine starts putting out 1,100 horsepower on race fuel. Shelby American rebuilds the engine down to the block; everything else in the drivetrain is new. They also upgrade the wheels, tires, bodykit, suspension and rear end to go along with the new-found 300-450 horsepower.
If you feel like putting down $149,995 on top of the price of a donor GT500 for this future Barrett-Jackson car, you can place your order after its public unveiling.
